Patients often wonder what their initial appointment will entail. Typically, the session is split between an in-depth consultation, where the physiotherapist asks questions to understand symptoms, and an assessment of movements and palpations to diagnose the issue. Treatment may begin in this session and often includes exercises to continue at home for self-management.
It’s common for patients to experience mild soreness following a physiotherapy session. This is usually temporary and followed by relief, but if the discomfort is significant, the physiotherapist will adjust the treatment.
The number of sessions required varies depending on the condition and individual response to treatment. During the first consultation, the physiotherapist will give an estimate based on the diagnosis and patient goals.
Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing is best, and you may want to bring shorts or a vest top to allow access to the affected area. Clinics may also provide towels to maintain your comfort during treatment.
Commonly treated conditions include back pain, sports injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation, joint pain, and neurological issues like dizziness and vertigo.
We have direct billing with some insurance companies. For those who we don’thave direct billing with, we will provide you with an invoice to submit for your claim. We are registered with CSP and HCPC and eligible for insurance covered physiotherapy. Check with your health insurance provider to make sure you are covered for physiotherapy treatment.
