Healing Without Surgery:

Ozone Injections

for Joints,Muscles

& Ligaments Repair

Regenerative medicine focuses on repairing and rebuilding the body’s own tissues. Prolozone Therapy is a regenerative injection treatment that delivers medical ozone directly into damaged or poorly oxygenated joints, ligaments, and tendons. By stimulating natural repair, improving circulation, and reducing inflammation, ozone therapy provides lasting pain relief and can help many patients delay — or even avoid — the need for surgery.

Ozone therapy has been used in medicine for over 125 years. It was applied in World War I to disinfect wounds and remains widely practised across Europe, the UK, and beyond. Athletes like Cristiano Ronaldo have used ozone therapy to recover from knee injuries, while Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother reportedly received ozone injections to support vitality well past her 100th birthday.

The Role of Oxygen in Healing

Oxygen is fundamental to life, and every cell depends on it for repair and energy. When tissues lack oxygen due to injury, trauma, or age-related degeneration, pain, inflammation, and stiffness follow. Prolozone Therapy addresses this problem directly:

  • Enhancing blood flow and tissue oxygenation

  • Reducing inflammation and muscle spasm

  • Improving joint stability and mobility

  • Creating the biochemical conditions for long-term healing

Phases of Tissue Repair

Conditions We Treat

For many patients, regenerative ozone therapy offers a way to manage pain and restore function without the need for invasive surgery.

Musculoskeletal Pain & Injuries

  • Neck and back pain

  • Herniated or bulging discs

  • Sciatica

  • Shoulder pain (rotator cuff injuries, frozen shoulder)

  • Elbow pain (tennis/golfer’s elbow)

  • Wrist pain, carpal tunnel

  • Hip and knee pain (including meniscus injuries)

  • Ankle and foot pain (plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis)

  • Muscle and ligament injuries

Arthritic & Degenerative Conditions

  • Osteoarthritis (knee, hip, spine, shoulder, hands)

  • Rheumatoid arthritis (pain and inflammation)

  • Degenerative joint disease

  • Chronic joint stiffness

Sports & Overuse Injuries

  • Tendinitis and tendinosis

  • Repetitive strain injuries

  • Ligament laxity (unstable joints)

  • Post-surgical pain

Other Pain Syndromes

  • Complex regional pain syndrome

  • Fibromyalgia

  • TMJ dysfunction

  • Chronic migraine/headache linked to neck or jaw

Healing & Regeneration Support

  • Slow or non-healing injuries

  • Scar tissue pain

  • Age-related musculoskeletal degeneration

By improving joint stability, reducing inflammation, and stimulating cartilage repair, Prolozone is helping many patients delay — and in some cases avoid — joint replacement or other invasive surgical procedures.

Ozone Molecule

Ozone injection therapy is a regenerative injection that delivers medical ozone direct to the target area to stimulate repair within joints, ligaments, and tendons. By delivering ozone directly into poorly oxygenated or degenerated tissues, ozone improves local circulation, enhances oxygen metabolism, and promotes tissue regeneration.

The mechanism of action is multifaceted:

  • Collagen and cartilage repair – ozone stimulates fibroblasts and chondrocytes, promoting connective tissue regeneration.

  • Reduction of inflammation – ozone down-regulates inflammatory mediators and improves local antioxidant balance.

  • Improved joint stability – enhanced collagen synthesis strengthens supporting ligaments and tendons.

  • Pain relief – achieved both through reduced inflammation and restoration of normal joint mechanics.

The initial consultation and treatment generally last 60–90 minutes. Ongoing therapy sessions last 30–90 minutes and are scheduled at intervals of one to two weeks. Many patients report noticeable improvements within three sessions, typically completed over a six-week period. A subsequent healing phase of around 40 days allows continued tissue regeneration, with maintenance “booster” sessions offered to sustain long-term results.

Ozone injections are particularly effective for musculoskeletal conditions such as osteoarthritis, chronic back and neck pain, rotator cuff injuries, knee degeneration, and ligament instability — making it a valuable addition to advanced MSK rehabilitation programs.

Combining Ozone with Advanced Physiotherapy

Ozone therapy is a medical treatment that introduces a highly active form of oxygen (O₃) into the body to stimulate repair, reduce pain, and restore cellular balance. For musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions such as osteoarthritis, tendon and ligament injuries, or chronic back and neck pain, ozone improves tissue oxygenation, reduces inflammation, and accelerates natural healing responses.

When combined with advanced physiotherapy techniques — such as manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, and progressive rehabilitation — ozone therapy enhances outcomes by addressing both the structural and cellular drivers of MSK dysfunction. While physiotherapy restores mobility, strength, and biomechanical alignment, ozone works at the biochemical level to improve circulation, reduce oxidative stress, and promote regeneration of cartilage, ligaments, and connective tissue.

Formation of Ozone

Our integrated approach often helps patients regain mobility and reduce pain to a degree that surgery can be postponed or avoided altogether. By combining advanced physiotherapy with regenerative ozone, we aim to maximise recovery potential before surgical intervention is considered.

The dual approach of ozone therapy with advanced MSK physiotherapy therefore provides a comprehensive strategy:

  • Pain relief through reduced inflammation and improved joint mechanics

  • Accelerated recovery by enhancing tissue healing and repair

  • Improved function through restoration of stability, mobility, and muscle balance

  • Long-term benefit by addressing both symptom relief and underlying tissue health

Many ozone therapy patients regain mobility, reduce pain, and avoid invasive procedures. For example, patients with knee osteoarthritis often find that after a short course of treatment combined with physiotherapy, they can walk pain-free again without joint replacement surgery.
